There are few settings on earth that compare with the majesty and lore of Scotland's famed Loch Lomond. This place exists in its own ongoing fairytale. On a uniquely warm and bright spring day, we had the incredible opportunity to step into the magic for the glorious wedding celebration of Natalie & Ian. Here on the bonnie banks, at the illustrious Cameron House estate, the two "tied the knot" in true Gaelic tradition.
Vibrant and witty and a true generous heart, Natalie was born and raised in her beloved native Scotland. She moved to the States 11 years ago to pursue her passion for field hockey. In December of 2011, while visiting friends in Virginia, she was introduced to a certain Ian Holder, who caught her attention with his warmth, humor, and thoughtfulness. Their first date was at a little wine bar called Press 626 in Norfolk, and both felt an instant deep connection between them. They maintained a growing relationship long distance over the next two years, until Natalie received a lucky job offer in Norfolk in 2013. Two more years of shared adventures, traveling, and investing in each other led to one Autumn evening in 2015. On a bridge in Norfolk overlooking the shimmering water of Elizabeth River, Ian got down on one knee and asked Natalie for forever together.
Cameron House was the natural choice to begin their married lives together, since it has been one of Natalie's favorite places for as long as she can remember. On Ian's first visit to Scotland, Natalie introduced him to the lovely estate and grounds at the edge of Lomond's shimmering banks, and he instantly became equally taken with the spot. Grand Cameron House, with its rich history and unprecedented elegance, was bathed in sunlight and abuzz with excited energy on the morning of the 26th of May when we arrived for the festivities. It was to be the day of a lifetime!
