On a pivotal autumn evening in Northern Michigan in 2014, destiny brought two remarkable souls together in an unlikely encounter at Alpers annual Hog-A-Thon. After that initial meeting, Scott and Lyndze alternated following each other around for the rest of the evening, learning about each other and discovering a great deal that they had in common. Lyndze skirted out that evening without so much as a glass slipper or a phone number left for Scott...
But Scott would not be shaken so easily. Through social connections that he shared with Lyndze's family, Scott was able to get Lyndze's phone number from her father. In August of 2015, just before the first of many annual rides on the Ferris Wheel at the state fair, Scott and Lyndze officially began dating. One year later, beside the upper falls at Tahquamenon, Scott asked Lyndze to be his bride.
Not by their own choosing but much to their credit, these two have faced mountains and been through the fire since they committed to be everything to one other. They have emerged from every adversity with a stronger, deeper love to show for it. What a joy to celebrate this remarkable couple and the beginning of their married lives together!
