Aymi & Josh are two laid-back lovers from Chicago with a penchant for the Cubs, canines, and craft beers. Their love story began 5 years ago, like the perfect intro to a romantic comedy. The two met at a bar where Aymi was bartending. While two of their friends flirted nearby, Aymi and Josh were left to talk by themselves. That night, there happened to be a man dressed entirely in purple, break-dancing on the sticky floor of that small town bar. Jokingly, Aymi told Josh that if he had the courage to come in dressed in purple the following week, she'd buy his drinks for the night. And he did just that. The following week, Josh showed up in the promised plum ensemble, and Aymi made good on her offer and bought his drinks. Josh left at the end of the night with her number. The rest, as they say, is history.
Aymi and Josh picked the elegantly restored Journeyman distillery in Three Oaks as the setting for their November nuptials. The industrial venue is airy and evocative, melding the elements of worn wood, polished chrome, and crystal chandeliers into a warm, effortlessly chic locale. Vintage china and wildflowers adorned the guest tables in Warren Hall, and the sun shone brightly through the window-lined walls on this unseasonably warm autumn Saturday.
